The NSS President and Vice Presidents work together to oversee all of the Society’s operations over a one-year term. During the 2017 year, President Palmeri, Vice President – University Affairs Lortie, & Vice President – Operations Tai look forward to investing in the NSS’ professional development, as well as expanding its ability to engage nursing students.

Senator


The Senator represents the voice of nursing students at University Senate. Senator Ramsay works closely with the NSS President to ensure that NSS Constitution is kept up to date, and that Assembly functions efficiently while following Robert’s Rules of Order.

Matthew Secord

Academics & Professional Development Commissioner


The Academics & Professional Development Commissioner works yearlong to plan the Annual Nursing Career Fair (CF). As well, Matthew has reinvigorated the Study Buddies Program and will oversee its operations throughout the year.

Kaitlyn Meloche

CNSA Official Delegate


Together with Holly Dye, Kaitlyn works to maintain communication between Queen’s Nursing students and the RNAO, ONA, and CNSA. Their portfolio is centered around professional development and they look forward to planning a “Nursing Students Week” celebration in the fall of each school year.

Events Commissioner


The Events Commissioner is essential for the planning and execution of the fourth year nursing formal, as well as overseeing the coordination of class-specific social events. Christine also helps with the planning of exciting nursing-wide events throughout the year, actively engaging nursing students across all years and streams.

Social Issues Commissioner


The Social Issues Commissioner plans outreach events each semester that aim to improve the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of all nursing students. Erin also sits on the Equity Caucus, helping nursing students stay up-to-date on the latest issues with regards to equity at Queen’s University.

Rowan Sandford Ladon

Health and Wellness Commissioner


The Health and Wellness Commissioner helps plan events geared towards making healthy nursing students. From events in the ARC to wellness workshops, Rowan is always coming up with ideas to ensure nursing students can live a healthy lifestyle at Queen’s.

KNSC Director


KNSC aims to bring together nursing students from across Kingston. The conference takes a unique theme centered around a field of nursing students determined by the student population each year in anticipation of the coming year. Past themes have included Emergency Room Nursing, Oncology, and Travel Nursing.

Head Cape


The Head Cape is in charge of planning and overseeing Nursing Orientation Week. Working alongside members of the Nursing Orientation Committee, Alexi makes sure that Nursing Orientation Week 2017 will be the best one yet!
